It’s been a busy few weeks. The combination of catching flu, recovering, going back to work, going back to church, and running two roleplaying campaigns has left me with little time for blogging… but I’m back!
Gaming has got back on schedule and seen the Friday Night Roleplay group back at full strength. I ran a one-shot SF adventure using the N.E.W. game system a couple of weeks ago. Last Friday we had a game of Mice & Mystics before getting into a chat about the past adventures and game moments we enjoyed most.
Something Different…
Listening to the guys talking, I was struck by the focus on investigation and mystery combined with the moments in which players combined the efforts of their characters to solve problems. Under it all, there was a definite desire to take a break – even a short one – from the classical fantasy genre and play something different.
Enter Dark Legends – my pitch to the group for a modern conspiracy/horror game using Palladium’s Beyond the Supernatural roleplaying game. As regular readers know, I’ve long been wanting to play a game using the Palladium system and introduce my friends to the wondrous bunkum of Kevin Siembieda’s worlds. Now seems like a good time to take the plunge.
While I’ve emailed the pitch to the guys, I thought I might as well post it here too in case it’s of any interest to others. It’s a straight-forward proposal to run a short 12-session campaign with a definite story-arc.

Fingers crossed.
Game on?
