Wearily, he walked slowly down the stairs away from the teacher’s office. It was the end of another Friday afternoon and the long drive home awaited him. He was both saddened and elated. The last lesson had gone well, a discussion upon the merits of Capital Punishment, and everyone was buoyed by the promise of the holidays. And yet, he felt saddened too because he knew that, despite his tiredness and the opportunities of the week ahead, he would miss the teaching.
It has been two months since we last updated you on what is going on, not only on the site, but in the lives of the writers. With the school half-term break having arrived, the time has come to bring you up to speed.
Blog News
Since December you’ve had 3 Reasons to Watch Dexter, the chance to question Christmas, and a discussion on Fate and Predestination. On top of that, there was a massive interest in A Starbuck’s Tale, the single most read and shared post on CoolReligion.net. It seems that the mix of story and reflection was a winner with you – our reader.
Over the forthcoming weeks you can expect more great articles, including thoughts about experiencing the Qu’ran, the story of Guru Nanak, and much more. As ever, our guest bloggers are beavering away on their own offerings and, once again, we’d like to make an invitation to you: if you’ve got something to share, let us know via the comments, Twitter or by email.
Author’s News
As for the Rat, well… school is going well and, in spite of all the essays and lesson plans, we’re keeping the flame burning here week-by-week. To be honest, it’s a massive effort to make the time to write but I have to admit that, reading your responses to my witterings, there is nothing quite as fantastic as knowing that our small but growing audience is enjoying at least some of the articles.
For me, reading some of the heartfelt comments and receiving notes of support via Twitter and Facebook is really uplifting and challenging. Thank you to everyone who has clicked a link and read even one of CoolReligion’s articles. Double thank you for anyone who has re-tweeted or otherwise shared a link with your friends.
Without your support there would simply be no point in writing. Thank you all!
Desperately Seeking Pagans
And… we’d really like to write a series to introduce Paganism to the site religions section. If you are a practising Pagan we’d be interested in hearing from you about what you think should be included in our first article. If you want to drop comments or emails our way, we’d love to hear from you.
Until next time… Namaste – “The spirit within me salutes the spirit within you.”
